These simple, beautiful, and functional nine-inch plates are part of an entire tableware and bakeware collection designed by Sophie Conran, an English food writer with her own gourmet pie company. Conran infuses her namesake tableware with a flowing organic nature and tactile expression, as evidenced by the ridges and dipped rims that recall handcrafted pottery. Made of porcelain expressly for Portmeirion, the collection comes in glossy white with select pieces available in cool blue celadon and a creamy biscuit color.

The versatile nine-inch plate finds uses throughout the day, from breakfast to lunch to dinner and dessert. Wonderful
I bought plates, bowls, sugar bowl and milk jug and love them. They are just very stylish and look great on the table. I will be buying the other pieces.

In love with dishes, size and all
I ordered these dishes without seeing the real deal, and I am so happy I did! They are unusual in style and go great with my treble clef flatware. I'm glad the salad plates are 8" and the dinner plate is off by an inch too. Plates are getting way too big and so are a lot of us! Thanks to the reviewer who noted the mistake in sizes. Otherwise, I may have gone with something else.

Wrong size advertised
These are actually very nice plates - lovely and nice quality - and so I feel badly giving a poor review. However they are advertised to be 9 inch plates and are actually only 8 inches and for that reason I will be returning them.
