This is definitely a great CD, he visitado la ciudad de Juarez dos veces y he venido amor la gente de México. I've been listening to a lot of Mexican and Latin American music while trying to learn Spanish. After watching what has become my favorite movie "La Misma Luna" I've grown to love Los Tigres Del Norte and had to get this CD.
Must have for long time or beginning fans of Los Tigres!
Raices is a cover album by Los Tigres Del Norte. Covering such classics from Jose Alfredo Jimenez like "El Rey", "El Hijo Del Pueblo" and "Tu Recuerdo Y Yo" Los Tigres put their own touch on these timeless classics while being faithful to the original. Other stand out hits like "Rumbo Al Sur" and "No Volvere" are beautifully covered with plenty of heart and talent. And these are just the first half of this exceptional album.
Don't let the fact that this is a cover album discourage you from purchasing this great CD. Many Mexican artist release cover ablums but none have done it as good as Los Tigres. What is great about this album is that it's a great way to introduce yourself to Los Tigres as well as traditional Mexican music. Once hearing this you will not be able to stop yourself from delving deeper into Los Tigres vast catalog. I would recommend "Jaula De Oro", "Gracias America...Sin Fronteras", "Jefe De Jefes" and "De Paisano A Paisano." Thanks!
