The Hawaiian people live on beautiful tropical islands in the Pacific Ocean. In this tropical paradise, a beautiful girl with long black hair walks along the shore saying "Aloha" to everyone she sees. This greeting means both "hello" and "good bye." Her father is the chief of the people. The princess loves surfing known as He'e nalu or "wave-sliding" in old Hawaiian. The Princess of the Pacific Islands wears a traditional island dress known as a muu muu and a lei of plumeria, a fragrant blossom native to the islands. Doll measures approximately 12" tall.

Beautiful addition to DOTW collection
This is a gorgeous doll and great for a young and/or new collector. The faux turquoise jewelry is a wonderful detail. Her facial feautures are lovely. It also gives some interesting historical/cultural information on the back of the box.If you like barbies, especailly native american barbies she is a nice, not too expensive, addition to your collection.
JUST ABOUT RIGHT
WE LIVE ON THE BORDER OF THE NAVAJO NATION. MANY OF THE OLDER FEMALE NATIVE AMERICANS WEAR CLOTHES LIKE THIS ON A DAILY BASIS. NOW WHEN IT COMES TO THE PRINCESS OF THE NAVAJO...HERE WHERE WE LIVE SHE IS USUALLY IN A T-SHIRT AND BLUE JEANS BUT WHEN SHE APPEARS AT TRADITIONAL CEREMONIES SHE IS THE CLOTHING OF HER CULTURE. WE HAVE LIVED ON THE BORDER OF THE NAVAJO NATION FOR 23 YEARS AND I FEEL AND WELL AS MY FAMILY THAT THIS BARBIE SHOWS THE CULTURE OF THE NATIVE AMERICANS.
THIS ONE HITS A HOME RUN!!
Coming right on the heels of Ancient Mexico and Navajo (both of which I found disappointing), Princess of Renaissance Italy is a welcome rebound. Her costume and face are absolutely gorgeous and her dark features provide nice balance with the many blonde princesses in the series. She meets and exceeds expectations set by her photos - a feat several of the other dolls in this series have not managed to pull off!
