Sippy-cup french press! Add your ground coffee, fill with HOT water, and cover. Four minutes later push the plunger and drink hot tasty coffee. Works fine for tea too. Without the press top it's a functional mug for cold beverages as well. This one's a bit heavy for backpacking, but Liquid Planet also makes a plastic version.

Gotta have your espresso? This aluminum moka pot works fine on a backpacking stove to make pretty good espresso in about three minutes. Won't have a creamy head like a pump-driven maker, but this list is about "Roughing It" easily. Can also double as merely a way to boil water for tea or reconstituting food or cous-cous.

Cocktail time? The stainless martini glasses have more panache than plastic for not much more moolah. Sometimes I premix martinis (yeah, I use vermouth!) into a 20 oz. pop bottle to through in my pack or saddlebags. I can ice it, stick it in nearby snow or a cold stream, and have 4-5 decent martinis - enough to share or cover a few nights.

Never have dead batteries leave you in the dark again. Hand crank provides useable light with little effort. Two options (1 bulb, or all 3 on).
