These aren't cheap, but you can just buy the next size nipples as your child grows. They are supposed to be the most similar to breastfeeding. Even after my baby went home from NICU, it was awhile before he was allowed to be on all breast feedings.

After baby is home...

Some preemies need this to help them latch on at first. Don't use these without consulting your neonatologist or lactation specialist first as they can alter baby's latch. Mine used these until about his due date, then he was able to nurse without the shield.
