Customer Reviews
nice lights
these are really good party lights...for small parties..i think with some fog and strobe lights...we totally made it come to life.
great disco light
It was just a blast for the money I paid especially in combination with fog machine I can see all the different color rays passing through the fog which keeps changing the color based on voice activation. My cousins Arun Pandey who visited us they had blast during this 4th of July
I wished it worked more consistently!
I agree that I wasn't aware of the "duty cycle" where you have to turn it off to cool down. I do not use these lights professionally, I just wanted it for family parties. This appliance requires 15 minutes off after 15 minutes on. It does indeed get super hot. I don't have a T-bar or anything to hang it from, so I was concerned with placing such a hot, metal item on wooden furniture. My solution was to set it on top of a saucepan...I used an empty coffee can last year! (I am sure you could use silicone oven mitts or something too, if you didn't want to hang it or use a saucepan!)
Another minus for me, it didn't "move" to the music unless the music was really, really loud. Now I like it a little loud, and placed this right next to the stereo, but still nothing. When I tapped my finger on the casing, it did move. There is a knob that is supposed to adjust "sensitivity" but turning it completely either way didn't work for me.
Once in a while a song (played at the same volume) would make it work. My nephew joked that it only worked with singers who have an English accent...as David Bowie and the Eurythmics would usually make it work for some reason! It could be due to your bass/treble, we never did figure it out! Or maybe in a larger banquet-hall type room, the music can be played louder next to this light, but still not deafen the people (like in my room about 20x20).
When it worked though, it was really fun. The different colored lights looked like slash marks all over the ceiling walls and floor and indeed changed direction and color with the beat.
I don't regret buying it, but have to remember to turn it off (I just count 5 songs on, 5 songs off...that was close) and we liked it even when it wasn't moving..or we just tapped it. Careful with the heat, though.
