The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. love these!!
these are beautiful and great quality boots. they are so comfortable, something which is not common in boots. they run all the way up to my knee and are very loose around the opening, but i like the over sized look. it also makes them great to tuck skinny jeans inside. they are a steal right now on amazon, and actually $15 less than when i bought them last week, but i am still so happy with this bargain. these are a great classic style that will last for many years!

Beautiful & Versatile, but Strange Fit
I've had the boots since January 2009, wearing them about once a week, weather permitting. I love the way the boots look with skinny jeans, they work with tapered jeans, I can wear them with tights and a mini, and they even make my frumpy sweater dress look dressy. As the cool weather starts to settle around the South once again, I excitedly broke out the boots for the Fall. At 5pm in the workday, my heels are hating me. Ladies, they look great, but the construction of the back heel rubs rubs rubs. I bought the Carmen 3 strap boots recently, and they fit much better.

Very glad I purchased this boot. In addition to ordering it in black, I also purchased it in brown. I'm in between a 7 and a 7 1/2. I purchased the 7 and they fit perfectly. Looks great over jeans, leggings, or w/ a dress.
