The uniquely designed Kelty Transit 2.5 child carrier is perfect for comfortably carrying your child as well as all the gear you'll need for a long day out. When not in use as a child carrier, this pack can easily close to be used as a daypack only and can stow in the overhead bin or trunk for overhead traveling convenience. Unlike framed Kelty child carriers, the Transit 2.5 does not have a kickstand. However, it does offer 1850 cubic inches of storage in its pack, which includes a large main storage pocket and a removable front pocket. Amazing
This bag is amazing. My kid loves sitting in here walking around. Only criticism I have is it's very difficult to get a child in with one person. The extra stuff in there keeps getting caught up on their feet. Otherwise, the bag is incredible!

Disappointed with Kelty 2.5
I was very disappointed with this product, as well as the two other versions (2.1 and 3.1) that we tried. Way too bulky and heavy - not at all what I expected based on other reviews and research I did online. My child did not like it at all either - uncomfortable in the crotch area and my childs legs got banged up on the pieces of metal on the base of the carrier. Funny that nothing I read mentioned that there were strips of metal on the bottom, which I guess are supposed to make if more sturdy and sit on the ground easier. Who knows. Anyway, they hurt my child's legs. We returned this item, but also had some difficulty because the seller claimed they never received any of the emails I sent to them through Amazon.

Best baby product--EVER
My son and I love this backpack! We use it all of the time--weather at the grocery store or for short hikes. It is the perfect means to transport a child and all of their gear. The pack is very adjustable for both myself and my son. I have found it to be comfortable and easy to use, and so has my son. Everything about the pack is quality. I love the mirror accessory (allows me to see what my son is doing) as well as the rain/sun hood (keeps my son dry and shaded). I also greatly enjoy having both arms free. My son really enjoys being up high where he can see. He gets excited when I put in in the pack. As he is being hoisted onto my back he squeals with delight. He is always so happy to be in the pack. He is a real taskmaster, though; always patting my shoulder trying to get me to walk faster! His only complaint is my head gets in his way of seeing things!!!

I would not recommend this pack, or any pack for the matter, to a person who is not accustomed to carrying weight on their back. The pack weighs 40 pounds with my son and all of his stuff. My wife will not wear him because of the weight. This is not a detraction in any way to this pack. It is just a simple fact of carrying a child on your back.
