About the Author
Jennifer Marx fell in love with Disney's theme parks with her first visit to Walt Disney World as a teenager in 1983. As author of over a dozen popular books, she wanted to write one about Walt Disney World but felt no interest in churning out yet another travel guide when there were so many excellent books already available. When she hit upon the idea of the PassPorter, she knew she could offer her fellow holiday makers something unique and valuable. Dave Marx worked extensively in the electronic media-radio, television and online-and the music business before he began his collaboration with Jennifer. Best known for co-authoring PassPorter Walt Disney World and PassPorter's Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line, he has also co-authored and contributed to numerous books about America Online and the Internet.

Great Planning Guide
Passporter's WDW book is a great organizer and planner. Although I visit Disney almost every year, I still like to keep up-to-date with its many changes. So for my 2009 Disney vacation, I purchased several new Disney World guidebooks. Ultimately, I found that my favorite guides were Passporter's and The Healthy Guide to Walt Disney World 2009: How to Eat Right and Stay Fit in Disney - The NEW Diet, Dining, Food, Fitness and Complete Weight Loss Book.
Passporter's Disney guide includes great mapping details, abundant general Disney info and a helpful journal. Well organized and easy to read, any Disney guest will benefit from its vast contents. It also contains clear, concise reviews and straighforward planning tips.
As I also like to maintain a healthy lifestlye while traveling, The 2009 Healthy Guide to WDW was very beneficial. A popular book within the Disney community, The Healthy Guide was best at updating me in the areas of 2009 Disney Dining, ADR's, menus, diet and fitness options.
Concurring with many Disney fans, I agree that authors Jennifer Marx (Passporter's) and Dan Green (Healthy Guide) have written the two best guides to assist guests on their Walt Disney World vacation in 2009.
The maps alone are worth the price!
I bought this as one of three books to prepare for our Disney trip. I love all things Disney so it was fun to read a travel guide written by a Disney fanatic. Here are the highlights of this guide:
The MAPS: these are the best WDW maps that I have come across for planning your schedule! They are detailed but not convoluted, and seem to be much more drawn to scale than Disney's own maps that you can order customized from the website.
The REVIEWS: she includes reviews of every eatery and attraction including a rating from herself, her husband, and her readers. She also includes comments from her teenager, tween, and toddler about some attractions!
The PICTURES: unlike other travel guides, she includes candid photos of the snapshot variety (from her own trips and probably from readers) and the pics are in full color. The pics really give you a more personal feel than the typical travel guide glossy photos or no photos (as in one of my guidebooks).
The DETAILS: she really seems to leave no stone unturned, like which specific rooms in each resort have the best views!
While I enjoyed all three of my Disney travel guides, this is my favorite. If you can only buy one, THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT!!!
Great for Out-Of-Staters
This would be a great first-time planning guide for families from out-of-state who are making Disney World their vacation destination, and are planning on spending the majority of their time on Disney property. Great for planning an itinerary and budget, right down to accommodations and meal planning. Has lots of little pockets for storing tickets, reservation confirmations and receipts. I don't think Florida residents who have been to WDW multiple times would find this book very useful.
