The Best I Ching card deck in print today
There are many decks of I Ching cards available today. Most of them are fairly abstract in their representations of the meanings of the hexagrams, which for me defeats the entire purpose of having a deck of cards. (I'm a Tarot reader) They are pretty, but I have to run to the book to find out what they mean.
There are a few decks with pictoral representations of the meaning of the hexagrams. Some are based primarily on the Taoist "image" text, consisting of the two elements that are the hexagrams. This level of interpretation is a later level than the oracular hexagram names and line texts; it also loses some information.
I find Kwong Yin's deck to be the most evocative of the Chinese I Ching interpretations of the last 2000 years, similar to the discussions in Huang's translation of the I Ching (among others). It functions well used in the style of the Tarot, as several situations or archetypes in a multi-card reading. It also functions well as a set of illustrations to accompany an I Ching text.
