Customer Reviews
Padded case adequate, but straps lacking
I am happy with this padded case from Orion as far as protection for my Reflector Tube Assembly. However, I am a little disappointed in the way the straps are placed. The straps are too long to carry the case from your hand hanging by your side and when you carry it over your shoulder one end wants to dip down toward the ground. This means you have to really concentrate to be sure that your tube assembly does not bump the ground accidentally.
Do Yourself a Favor, Get the Bag
You have a choice to make here.
If you plan to leave your scope in the garage, or porch, and if moving it to your view site is easy, then you do not need this bag. It is just a waste of money, and it is bulky.
If you plan on transporting the scope to another location, you need the protection of the bag. I don't think I could safely transport my scope without it.
