Great Speaker Option (Works With iPod Nano 4th gen)
It has been noted that the 4th generation iPod Nano has some backward compatibility issues with other devices. For example, the 4th gen nano won't charge on a lot of older docking stations.
I can confirm that these Altec Lansing speakers will charge your iPod Nano 4th generation. See uploaded photo. I was actually assuming it wouldn't because the description only says compatible with "iPod nano 3rd gen".
These speaker sound good for their size. The "aux" in jack is on the back if you want to use these speakers for other types of mp3 player.
Not too bad
It's not a bad dock. I wish they would have squared the bottom so you didn't have to fold out the dock and back support to keep it upright.
The dock adapters fit, in my opinion, too securely. If your iPod doesn't fit in the one you've inserted, it takes a bit more effort than it should to get it out. But the dock adapters aren't really needed, because the iPod rests nicely in the impression.
The sound is clear and can get pretty loud, but the claim of deep bass, unless the unit requires a big burn-in time, is false. An iRhythms unit half the size of this one sounds much better in the same room, with the same iPod, playing the same music.
It's a good travel speaker, but not for those who like bass.
Nice Portable Speaker
I got this speaker because I was looking for a loud, portable unit that did not use a lot of batteries, Well This fits the bill, It is loud, decent sound quality, (it has some of the biggest drivers for a portable dock, so I thought the bass response would be deeper, no so..But sufficent for portable use, I takes only 3 aa batteries!.. and plays for long time, and you can get it for a good price online..also to get the best volume, turn off the sound limiter on your ipod..can play loud enough with limited distortion, but not all the way up...oh, 1 more thing, it will charge your 2nd generation ipod touch (alot of older docks will not)
