Preface

Good health and illness are not mysteries -- the four basic steps we present prevent and heal almost every condition. - Improve Nutrition - Detoxify and Rejuvenate - Restore Balance - Integrate Body, Mind, and Spirit

What you have in this book are tools for a lifetime of good health. Though the healing practices and information may seem like too much at first -- just start with one thing. It might be five pieces of fruit a day, 40 minutes of exercise, or a sauna. Build slowly on your successes. Remember that your body regenerates itself over a period of years. By slowly integrating positive health practices into your lifestyle, you can create a healthier body, mind, and spirit as you age.

We will be reinforcing the importance of these steps to healing the whole person throughout this book while providing the knowledge you need to step forward confidently.

Carry on this path until a healthy lifestyle is firmly established, but be patient. This may take several years. Keep re-reading the book -- you'll get more out of it each time.

You can start by setting 3-month seasonal goals for yourself as you follow some of the guidelines in this book -- for example, you could eliminate sugar from your diet, eat organic foods, balance your urine and saliva pH, and do a parasite cleanse for 3 months. Work with a natural medicine practitioner and keep moving along until you've taken care of the four steps we present for healing the whole person. If you have a serious illness, such as cancer, try to encompass all of the healing steps in the shortest time possible -- it is possible for you to become well if you do so. Just begin and keep going with faith and commitment as your companions.

With this book, we have made the effort to meet a need in women's health literature for a comprehensive natural medicine approach by integrating many natural healing practices and traditions rather than focusing on one or two therapies to the exclusion of the others. Written by a trio of women trained as naturopathic and medical doctors, we also offer a unique complementary perspective on women's medicine.
