Customer Reviews
this is supposed to be gentle?
My dog's former owner gave me one when I adopted Luke, my medium-sized, not-too-bad-a-shedder black Lab. I noticed when I brought Luke home that he suffered from dandruff. I switched his food to one not based on corn and started brushing him with the rubber curry brush my vet had given me for my former dog, a heavy-shedding black Lab. Within a few weeks Luke was nearly dandruff-free. After a few months on this routine, on a whim I tried the Lawrence Slicker. Dandruff appeared immediately and I stopped. No wonder: The wires were scratching him.
While the slicker removed quite a lot of hair, it was nearly impossible to remove it from the brush to clean it. I can't figure out what kind of animal the slicker was meant for: Whatever animal it is needs tough skin and lots of hair: a wooly mammoth, perhaps? Reminds me of the wire brushes they used at the nuclear power plant in the film Silkwood, i.e., instrument of torture. No, thanks!
