MIDWEST suggests that you use only four casters on crates 30" or smaller, however on crates 36" and higher six casters maybe neccessary inorder to support the additional wieght.

Perfect Solution for Large Crates
I have five dogs so I do quite a bit of floor cleaning to keep up with all the pet hair and messes. Moving their large crates was cumbersome so naturally wheels were the perfect solution. I searched all the big box home improvement stores and pet stores and could NOT find anything suitable. I found these casters online, they came very quickly and installed in a snap. Now my floors are clean, and in the case of liquid spills or accidents that flow under the crates, clean up is easy and I don't have to worry about rust stains from the wires sitting directly on the floor.

My huge crate is mobile!
These wheels work fine on tile or carpet. I am using them indoors on a 42 x 30 crate. I love how easy it is to move the crate for vacuuming, etc. I put on three sets (6 wheels) as recommended for a large crate. It takes a little time to install them with all the small bolts, nuts and washers, but it's not like I'm planning to take them off again. The crate folds just fine with the wheels on. So you can still store and travel with the crate easily. The wheels just stick out a few inches when the crate is folded. Excellent choice if you are tired of lifting or dragging your dog crate. You can even move the crate with the 80 pound dog in it!

Great idea!
Got these when I ordered my new crate in anticipation of my new lab puppy! I had a crate for a previous 50 lb dog and wish it had wheels. Make is supper easy to roll out and clean the dog hair and toy stuffing that gathers around the crate!
