Don Abusivo - Abusin the competition5
This is a complete album from begining to end. My friends sister was bumping it in her ride and I tripped out when I heard it. It is totally diffeent from all this rap/banda stuff that is coming out. It is original in every way. Abusivo has a way of attacking his words that makes you feel what he is saying and lyrically he is killing the competition. I like alot Akwid but this guy is on another level (i have to admit). It is now my favorite cd to bump in my ride.....Check it out gente.

Alcen Sus Copas is an exceptional piece of work5
Alcen Sus Copas is an exceptional piece of work by DONABUSIVO. Victor Perez | Donabusivo gets first credits on all tracks but one..."SinTi" where Marco Antonio Solis gets first billing - Kind of like when Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant played against eachother in the allstar game a few years back. DonAbusivo raps without doubt, fear or insecurity. He raps in español with the confidence of a veterano. In "Rumores" he raps with the anger of a young man who's had to convince his haters que no vale la pena to mess with him. The tracks "Asalto Verbal" and "Odio" sound like a collaboration between TuPac, Mozart and DonAbusivo. The warning is clear, he know's he can make it in this business... the music business. From backyard battles to studio callaborations with David J. Salas and Universal Music Latin, DonAbusivo, the artist now has the direction that will take him to his next level, a broader national and international audience.

The title track "Alcen Sus Copas" reminded me of my early 20's. This is the story of just about every young man i know. too much drinking and thinking the chicks love you. "Verdad de Dios" sounded like my mom always picking on my dad. Of course, my mom never sounded as lovely as Mariana G. "Cenizas", a track about losing someone close to you, at first sounds familiar, but can't place, then you just get into it because whatever it's name is you haven't heard it like this before. "Que Voy Hacer?" is every man's fantasy, nimodo. My favorite track is "El Centro de Atencion" because it reminded me of my mom dragging me into east l.a. cantinas as a little boy looking for my dad. It's sung with Isaias Lucero, later when DonAbusivo is thanking those that helped him in his CD he says "Ya no intentes rapear, por favor". That sounds like a pretty tight, professional relationship to me. "Una Noche" is a love song that could've been written and sung by Edie Gorme and trust me on this, this is the highest compliment i could possibly pay DonAbusivo.

Finally, "Gracias (Adios)" is proof of how difficult rap and composition really are. A million guys, if not more, feel this way. But how many can turn thier heat's feelings into words, into music? How many are good enough for Universal Music Latino? How many are good enough for David J. Salas, son of Rudy Salas, founder of the group Tierra? It's not that easy. Alcen Sus Copas is a culmination of alot of hard work by alot of people. DonAbusivo first thanks "mi hermosa Michelle y mis hijas" then his mom, dad and sister. Alot of young people are watching, listening, emulating DonAbusivo. He has a gift. He has talent. Above all, he has respect, gratitude and class.

Excellent album!5
What an album! I was never really into spanish rap, but once I heard this, I knew I had to own a copy. I found out about the album because it's produced and co-written by David Salas (who is the son of band leader Rudy Salas from the legendary band Tierra), and I've followed his music through the years. That guy is pretty talented.

Anyway,, about the album....it's way beyond any of those spanish rappers. Yes, it's takes it all to the next level. I love the "old sound" mixed in with the new. You really have to hear it to believe it. Abusivo is really gonna go a long way!!! I also found his website at DonAbusivo.com, which you should definitely check out.
