Product Description

Moon Spotlight Wisconsin’s Door County is a 95-page compact guide covering Sturgeon Bay, Lakeside, Bayside, Washington Island and Rock Island. Author Thomas Huhti offers seasoned advice on what sights are must-sees and includes maps with sightseeing highlights so planning your time is easy. This lightweight guide is packed with recommendations on sights, entertainment, shopping, recreation, accommodations, food, and transportation. Helpful maps make navigating this popular vacation getaway uncomplicated.

Moon Spotlight guides are affordably-priced, lightweight guides covering a smaller geographic region than Moon Handbooks or Outdoors guidebook series. The travel content in a Spotlight guide is pulled directly from individual chapters of larger Handbooks or Outdoors titles, with no introductory information (such as When to Go or Planning Your Trip), and no indexes. The results are compact guides to popular destinations that provide travelers with what they need to explore a specific locale in depth with fewer pages of very focused information.

Customer Reviews

Not worth the time or money1
I was so excited when this book was published - everything else had been published so many years ago and I was looking for an up-to-date guidebook for Door County. What a disappointment. Would have been better off googling the name of each town, logging on to that website and requesting free data & maps. That is ultimately what we had to end up doing to get some real direction. This book provided a spartan few pages covering the entire peninsula of Door County. Instead of devoting half the book to areas close by (Green Bay, Kohler, etc.) the author could have really done some research and indepth reporting on the many restaurants, parks and wineries that are all over Door County. Don't waste your time or money unless all you are looking for is a scratch the surface book. Fodor's and Frommer's get busy and put out a book on Door County - this place is a gem and what we could see from the lack of people - a well-hidden gem at that.
