Petsitter approved by various dog testers
I'm a petsitter who keeps client's dogs at my house and I had been looking at local stores for these simple puzzle mats as a play/sleep surface on top of my hardwood floors. Couldn't find any locally except alphabet mats, but thank goodness I found what I was looking for online at Amazon. Exactly what I was looking for - a durable, easy-to-clean, padded surface that can handle the daily roughness of dogs.

The mats are easy to put together, easy to remove when a muddy pawprint happens or dog accident occurs. And remarkably easy to clean dog poo and pee, just remove the soiled square and take to the bathtub to scrub and clean. So much better than taking the entire area rug outside to hose off like I use to, my back hurts just thinking of it!

It's durability can't be understated - big dogs (Labs, Great Danes, huskys, etc.) wrestling each other with sharp nails on the mats can be much harder than any child activity. I'm sure some will disagree on that so let's hear a different viewpoint. The mats will suffer scars and scratches from the dog nails and the mat borders can pull apart from a square if they wrestle near the edges. One important consideration to watch out for is dog chewing on the mats. They're soft and chewy which are ideal dog toy characteristics. I've lost some of the border pieces by a border collie puppy and choking is a concern that I'm worried about in the future. I provide other dog toys to hopefully distract them from the mats. I've had 20-30 different dogs over the past two months playing and sleeping on these mats and they've held up very well, two dog thumbs up!

Just what I was looking for
Great price! I looked all around for these things in the local stores and found these online. The are thicker and I like the colors on one side and neutral on the reverse. I bought two of them for a play area in our unfinished basement for the kids.

Perfect for babies learning to crawl
We had slippery hardwood floors and these mats were great for grip and a softer landing on my daughter's noggin. The large size of each square made the overall look more attractive. The colors are nicer than you would think. Much better than the stuff they sell at most baby stores.
