Customer Reviews

A must see5
The video is entertaining to watch, professionally crafted, immediately applicable to real couple life. Though my wife and I have a degree in psychology with years of training and experience, we found it very useful and inspiring. The day after watching it we smiled when we caught us already applying some of his hints. Dr. Gottman is a university professor and his presentation is based on academic and rigourous scientific research and field verification, which makes his works rather unique for insight and evidence. If you are committed to enhancing the quality of your couple life is a must see.

Jump Start Your Marriage5
This video is an excellent vehicle for learning about the mechanics of relationships, both those that work and those that don't (or at least is not working some of the time). It's based on years of research with a wide range of couples. I recommend regularly. Watch it together. Take about what you both are doing well and what you think YOU could do better. A terrific investment of an hour of your life! Good luck. This book is also terrific if you have the time to read more. The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work: A Practical Guide from the Country's Foremost Relationship Expert

Time Efficient, Excellent Material!5
Dr. Gottman has done years of couples research from which he's able to provide practical skills to help repair and strengthen your relationship. He has identified the "Four Horseman of the Apocolypse", the negative behaviors that cause the relationship to fall apart. He counters each of the four horseman with positive/workable behavior displayed by the "Masters" . (The Masters are couples who have been researched and are still together 10 - 20 years later)

Personality Conflicts, Dr. Gottman realized-once looking at subtext, are actually arguments about basic philosophical concepts very close to self. Examples; freedom, power, love,etc.... There is much more eye opening information on this DVD, along with some surprising statistics. Dr. Gottman ends the DVD by explaining 3 parts of the relationship that are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to making the marriage work.

I highly recommend this DVD to any couple wanting to improve their relationship by understanding what is really going on and identifying the negative ways each are engaging in. That is the hard part, after that, Dr. Gottman offers how to adapt to problems, while honoring one another =) LOVE THIS!
