The Children's Worker's Encyclopedia of Teaching Ideas- New
Our Children's Church program was in bad shape. Our teachers were showing Veggie Tale movies more often than not. We reviewed many resources and chose this book as the foundation of our program for several reasons. We have 12 teachers that work in pairs throughout the year. Some are talented in music, others devotions, others crafts, etc... The book is divided by books of the Bible and the lessons are categorized by music, skit, object lessons, prayers and quiet reflections, trips and travels, parties, creative storytelling, devotions, crafts, etc... It is easy to find a lesson that suits a teacher. In fact, most of our teachers could plan a year ahead. The back of the book has a scripture index, a theme index, and a teaching-style index so it is easy to find whatever is needed. We have used this as our resource for nearly a year now and our children have learned more than we ever dreamed possible. We plan to use the old testament next year. You will not be disappointed in this book.

This book has a lot of good ideas.
This book would be an excellent resource book for church groups or Sunday school teachers trying to develope exciting lessons for children. There are many very good ideas for the various learning types of children.

not what i thought.....
This book is not as I thought it would be. I was looking for resources to add to a children's church curriculem I was making for my church. These books (old and new testament) only give one idea for a particular bible passage. And honestly, I haven't used any of the ideas. Each lesson is either a service project, a party, a game, or a worship experience, or a song, and just one of those is not enough for a children's church lesson. They are either too complicated or too simple, or just not right for teaching children a particular lesson. I'll be honest, save your money and you'll probably be able to make up stuff that's even better and more creative than this book.
