Editorial Reviews

Review
"[Catherine's books] do an excellent job of conveying Charlotte Mason's ideas in a user-friendly format...offers broad advice about scheduling, selecting materials, teaching methods, and philosophy of education. It also includes using methedology with high schoolers, creating a "century book," and lengthy, recommended book lists. Quote frequently for Mason's work, Levison explains and clarifies Mason's ideas while also adding her own ideas resulting from her years of experience teaching this way in a home school setting. I found [her] books extremely practical and thoughtful." -- Cathy Duffy author of theChristian Home Educators' Curriculum Manuals

I found these books extremely practical and thoughtful." --Cathy Duffy, author of the Christian Home Educators' Curriculum Manuals "After providing an excellent "how-to manual" for the different school subjects in her first book, A Charlotte Mason Education, Catherine Levison has expanded on it in her new book, More Charlotte Mason Education. In this book Levison tackles some important issues that Charlotte Mason users encounter. My favorites include: What are the Liberal Arts? How Short Lessons are Applied and High School. She closes the book with helpful guidelines for further study." --Maggie Dail, MA, Master Teacher of a Charlotte Mason School, Education Consultant of Master Enterprises Learning Center "In More Charlotte Mason Education, Catherine shares at a deeper level hints, practical how-to's, inspiring quotations, and the rich and uplifting philosophy for which this approach to education has become well known. She shares with us the depth of her understanding on the many aspects of education she has experienced. The section on coping strategies for crises shows me that she is speaking from what she has learned from the lessons of life. Not only does she empathize, but she makes me feel comfortable with doing what needs to be done just to live, while still nurturing my children." --Tina Farewell, Lifetime Books & Gifts Catherine Levison has over a decade of home schooling experience. Customer Reviews

An excellent resource.5
Usually I think of sequels as being less than the original.. but this is an exception to the rule! As much as I enjoyed Levison's first book, A Charlotte Mason Education, I found this new work even more helpful! Since my children are getting older, I really appreciated the chapter on CM and high school age children. Contrary to popular belief, this method CAN be done with older students! Other chapters of interest include: Short Lessons, Book of the Centuries, Curriculum Planning, Coping Stategies, Book Selection, Classroom Applications, Poetry, Math, Support Groups, Frugal Home Schooling, Avoiding Twaddle, and too many other things to mention. This book is definitely worth adding to your collection of educational books.

More Charlotte Mason Education4
I was very pleased with this purchase. I devoured it within a few days, and every bit of the information was fresh and vital to me as a homeschooling mother approaching the highschool years. We have done much research on the CM method, but this book gives very practical and applicable advice about how to implement the principles. I highly recommend it.

Catherine's Personality Shows Through5
I heard Catherine speak at an all-day CM conference in Utah last year. She is a hilarious speaker; I was almost rolling on the floor during her presentation on habits. Catherine allows her personality and humor to come through in her writing of More Charlotte Mason Education. This book is more in-depth, more helpful, and more entertaining to read than her first book (which is still a good introduction to CM).
