A must have book for the Martial Artist!
Raymond Larose?s ?Siji Tzu? is a fantastic representation of the Tao. To be honest, I think ?Siji Tzu? represents Taoistic viewpoints in a fashion that is very digestible to the American reader, although perhaps a little watered down at times. This is a good thing, however, because sometimes concentrate is a little hard to palate. I feel ?Siji Tzu? specifically speaks to the aspiring martial artest, though it equally serve as a wonderful introduction to the Tao.
The study of a martial art is a study that reaches far beyond the confines of the body and indeed even the mind. Though in my study, through the years I have rarely seen people touch on the mental aspects of an art, and much less that of the spirit. There is a great void in the American martial arts? world, and I think ?Siji Tzu? is especially suited for it.
This book is a must read for any martial arts? student between his first and eighth year, and would make a great asset to a dojo library. Senseis will also benefit by having ready stories to aid in teaching their classes.
