Saniya: Pandora's BoxSaniya: Pandora's Box by Matthew Rice
Buy new: $31.57 / Used from: $189.10
Saniya: Pandora’s Box is a new campaign setting for the Dungeons & Dragons® 3rd Edition (D20 compatible). It introduces the Sub-Attribute system, Racial Levels, 9 new classes, 3 new prestige classes, and 550 new weapons, armor, shields, templates, materials, spells, feats, and domains allow for customization. It covers a very wide range of genres, allowing the GM to play as they see fit :-)
Heroes of Horror (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.5 Fantasy Roleplaying Supplement)Heroes of Horror (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.5 Fantasy Roleplaying Supplement) by James Wyatt
Buy new: $19.77 / Used from: $8.95
Perhaps one of the better supplements. This book contains a great deal of information on running a dark campaign. It is a perfect add on for Saniya: Pandora’s Box, as both deal with dark worlds and shadowed menaces. Saniya: Pandora’s Box provides a very solid base that, with the addition of the Heroes of Horror, provides most of what one needs to enter into new version of a Ravenloft-styled game.
Player's Handbook: Core Rulebook I (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.0 Fantasy Roleplaying)Player's Handbook: Core Rulebook I (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.0 Fantasy Roleplaying) by Monte Cook
Buy used from: $2.38
A must have along with Saniya: Pandora’s Box. The original 3rd edition of the D20 rules is considered by some (or most, depending upon whom you ask), to be the best and only source for the game. This is the Player’s Handbook, Core Rules book #1, version 3.0. Without it, you cannot play the game. This book may be purchased, or the 3.5 edition may be purchased. The choice is yours.
Player's Handbook: Core Rulebook I (Dungeons & Dragons, Edition 3.5)Player's Handbook: Core Rulebook I (Dungeons & Dragons, Edition 3.5)
Buy new: $19.77 / Used from: $10.00
A must have along with Saniya: Pandora’s Box. This is the revised 3.5 edition of the Player’s Handbook. Some of the rules have been changed (shields anyone?), and art has been changed. Otherwise, it is the same as the 3.0 edition. Either will work. As a gift, you may wish to purchase the leather bound “Special Edition” of the Player’s Handbook 3.5 edition.
Special Edition Player's Handbook (Core Rulebook I) (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.5 Fantasy Roleplaying)Special Edition Player's Handbook (Core Rulebook I) (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.5 Fantasy Roleplaying)
Buy used from: $45.99
A must have along with Saniya: Pandora’s Box (or you can purchase the regular, and less expensive, normal version). This is the “Special Edition” of the Player’s Handbook (3.5 edition). It comes with a nice leather cover and gilded (silvered) edges to the pages. At $75 retail, this is pricy. Amazon sells it for a nice discount, making it a viable alternative to the normal edition.
Epic Level Handbook (Dungeon & Dragons d20 3.0 Fantasy Roleplaying)Epic Level Handbook (Dungeon & Dragons d20 3.0 Fantasy Roleplaying) by Andy Collins
Buy used from: $12.99
If you can find this, the Epic Level Handbook allows you to advance your D&D d20 characters past 20th level. The epic spell section is wonderfully complex and varied; allowing creative players to create spells that work. There are also a host of monsters that are insanely tough, even for epic characters. Going against them, expect to die, or at least suffer severe harm!
Stronghold Builder's Guidebook (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.0 Fantasy Roleplaying)Stronghold Builder's Guidebook (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.0 Fantasy Roleplaying) by Matt Forbeck
Buy used from: $15.00
For any DM who loves to create custom dungeons/castles/ruins for their players to wade through, this book is absolutely indispensable. The mechanics in the book are very well thought out. However, purchasing a custom ‘whatever’ is so costly that it will only be available as an option to high level characters. It is far better to make the players fight for what they want. A MUST HAVE!
The Psychic's HandbookThe Psychic's Handbook by Steve Kenson
Buy used from: $15.69
The Psychic’s Handbook offers an optional system for psionic powers – a skill-based system. Psychic powers inflict Subdual Damage as they are used. This means that a few good hits in combat renders you unable to manifest your psychic powers. This makes it far more realistic, but also leaves the players at a disadvantage. This system is also referenced in Saniya: Pandora’s Box.
