Product Description

In a modern-day reworking of Mark Twain's classic story, Tom Canty, an average kid living with his grandfather, longs to be an actor. Due to his outlandish behavior, and his tendency to quote lines from his favorite plays, Tom is a bit misunderstood by his schoolmates as well as his grandfather. Tom's best friend and mentor, Miles, is an over-the-hill, retired actor (Vincent Spano) who lives in the neighborhood. Although Miles has his own struggles, he tries to be supportive and lead Tom down the right path. One afternoon, Tom sneaks onto the set of Teen Spy to meet his hero, Eddie Tudor. Eddie Tudor, the famous (and infamously spoiled) child star of Teen Spy, is making everyone's life difficult on set. Little does Eddie know, this demanding behavior is about to get him fired. The two boys switch clothes, and lives, for the afternoon. But when the production suddenly moves to Miami, the boys are stuck in their assumed identities. As both boys struggle to get back to their lives, everyone involved learns a thing or two about being a family.

Self-confidence is a healthy virtue, but "Teen Spy" star Eddie Tudor (Cole Sprouse) is so full of himself that he's becoming impossible to work with and is verging on being fired from the movie he's staring in. Enter devoted fan Tom Canty (Dylan Sprouse) who sneaks onto the movie lot in hopes of meeting his favorite star. Turns out that Tom just happens to look exactly like Eddie, so Eddie takes advantage of the moment and switches clothes and identities with the young fan in hopes of gaining a free afternoon. What Eddie gets is an eye-opening look at how a "normal" kid lives and the special challenges of Tom's life with his Grandfather. Tom, on the other hand, gets a chance to fulfill his life-long dream of acting in a movie--thing is, it's a lot more work than he ever imagined. Of course, almost no one involved in either young man's life believes that the two boys have switched places, which makes things especially complicated when the filming location changes unexpectedly from Palm Beach to Miami and Tom is whisked away from his hometown leaving Eddie behind. Through interacting with one another's families, friends, and co-workers, both boys learn important lessons about humility, appreciating what they have, and valuing the people closest to them. This contemporary version of a Mark Twain classic will appeal to kids ages 5 and older and stars Kay Panabaker, Vincent Spano, Dedee Pfeiffer, Ed Lauter, and Sally Kellerman. --Tami Horiuchi

Wonderful Family Film5

I had the privilege of seeing this movie at a Festival in Los Angeles, while I came through the doors expecting one thing, came out thinking it was better then what I had imagined.

The movie is about Look-A-Like boys. Tom Canty (Dylan Sprouse) who lives with his grandfather and helps him with his landscaping business, But really wants to be a great actor so Tom goes to a local studio and tries to get a job, and when he's turned down the adventure begins when Tom sneaks into the studio and meets Eddie Tutor (Cole Sprouse) who's a popular teen actor, however behind the scenes he's a spoiled bratty kid who just wants to be a "normal" teenager. The two decide to switch places, but quickly begin to realize Life is always not greener on the other side.

Based on Mark Twain's "Prince and The Pauper" this is a more modern day version. Fantastic story, and a great one for the entire family to enjoy and not be worried about the content. I'd defiantly recommend it for someone with children, teenagers & even adults who are young at heart.

Great Movie...5
I saw this movie with my little cousins and it was really good for both the children and the adults. I found myself laughing through most of the movie and the kids didn't stop... I gave it a 5 out 5 cause it was enjoyable for both adults and kids, something the whole family can watch, it is the perfect DVD for the family. Something i would watch over, very good!!!

My kids gave it two thumbs up!5
My kids really enjoyed seeing Dylan & Cole Sprouse playing different characters in Prince & The Pauper as they are big fans of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Anyone who is already a fan will love it and I think it would even appeal to kids who are unfamiliar with the Sprouse twins. My kids both gave it two thumbs up!
