Product Description
This award winning and critically acclaimed new DVD is designed for babies and children (0-6) in families with little or no Chinese background. Using natural speech development order, it uses sign language to provide non-Chinese speaking little ones a light-hearted early exposure to Chinese. It takes children through a fun journey of Chinese language, culture, and music. Being a tonal language (4 pitched tones for each syllable), Chinese uniquely stimulates both the right and left brains to promote speech and cognitive development for your child.

Editorial Reviews
Review
Critically acclaimed as, "Cool, funny ... I like it. Visually, it's the 'Being John Malkovich' of baby DVDs. You have to see it to understand. But the little toy car driving across the cooked rice bridge is perhaps my favorite part." - TD monthly baby DVD critic, Mark Zaslove, a two-time Emmy Award winner and producer for a producer for Disney, Universal, and Warner Bros. --TD Monthly Magazine April 2007 issue
Review
Baby China was awarded the Dove Family Seal of Approval. Shortly after its launch at the American International Toy Fair on Febuary 10, 2007, Baby China was selected by toy trade magazine TD monthly as the New and Notable toy. --Dove Family Foundation, TD Monthly
Review
"My son does not watch a lot of TV. He gets bored and walks away in a few minutes. But he sat quietly watched the entire video. Truly mesmerized. He was saying panda, cat, dog in Chinese afterwards. This says a lot about this video. It s like Baby Einstein in the sense that it s child-centered, fun, and without a teaching agenda. But it differs by focusing exposing kids to foreign language and culture instead of music." --Marie, mother of a 3 year old, Philadelphia
Customer Reviews
Great concept, bad audio
Great concept using Chinese characters, songs, vocabulary, sign language & moving visuals. The audio not so great. The songs too loud and voiceover too soft. You need to sit with your child with remote in hand to turn up when they speak and turn down when it is only music. Overall, a good buy.
Baby China is not just for those studying Chinese
My girls (3 and 5 years old) were captivated by "Baby China". They sat mezmorized through the first viewing. After several viewings, they began to use Chinese words that they learned. This video is a unique blend of spoken language and sign language -- it really reinforced the sign language the girls already knew and introduced them to new words in another language. They loved the songs!
