My $300 Paperweight1
Received this iPod as a gift. About 18 months later the battery died, as I had heard that it would. Paid about $60, as best I remember, & had to ship it to HP for a new battery. A couple of months after that, it started malfunctioning occasionally. Problems became worse & more frequent until a couple of weeks ago it totally crashed. HP "support" estimates $269 to fix it. Without a doubt the worst value for the money I have ever had in the consumer electronics category, and possibly the worst ever in any category. Would give it zero stars if I could.

don't buy this ipod1
i would rate this ipod a -5 since it is so bad. I bought 2 years ago and now my harddrive from the ipod crash. Now i don't have any more ipod. I went to the store and they won't give me another to replace since my warranty is up. Now i don't have an ipod and i waste my money from buying an ipod that doesn't work.

don't BUY-many hours spent trying to fix1
I won this product and was extremely excited when I got it. I've had problems ever since. The good part is that hp no longer makes ipods.
I have spent hours upon hours on the phone with apple and hp and the bottom line is apple will not do anything to fix the ipod and hp charges a flat rate of $270 to fix a problem. You can buy another ipod for that price so that's not an economically smart option.
The other option which I am going to try is to find a company who fixes ipods (by doing a Google search) and send it into them.
Also, if you do buy a new ipod buy the warranty, it's well worth it.
:) hope this helped-feel free to contact me with any relevant questions.
