Great Gift Item
As everyone has indicated it works great. Being a single man, I almost never cook and this thing is perfect for my needs. I have not used my regular oven even once since purchasing this. Sure is nice to pop in something from the freezer and not even have to heat up the oven first. The top of it gets pretty hot so I always place my plate there to warm it up. The only thing I wish they would improve would be to make the timer louder and have it continue to alarm.
faster cooking with no preheating
Lots of input on whether this oven cooks faster than a conventional oven- for me, it cooks about 25% faster, and the temperature must be reduced by 25-50 degrees for frozen foods.
The reason I love this oven is that it's small and requires no pre-heating. If I want to cook 2 frozen eggrolls, I pop them in, set the time, and they're done quickly and nicely browned. So much nicer than wasting time and energy with pre-heating, which may not matter with all foods, but definitely is necessary for some foods.
I cook full-sized pies in this oven, and it does a great job.
Nice features, and there's nothing I can think of that it's missing.
We've had ours about 3 years, and it's been great.
easy to use, well-designed toaster oven
We had this toaster for 4 years: easy to use, did a nice job on toasting, baking, and broiling, nice and compact so it doesn't eat up the whole counter. Disappointing when the lower heater element failed & I found out that it's necessary to ship the toaster somewhere just to get that part replaced. The Panasonic web site is completely messed up so I never could figure out how to do that, so I gave up and bought a new Sanyo toaster oven instead.
