The m240 includes FM radio and voice recording, a backlit LCD screen that displays ID3 tag information, support for multiple file formats, and full compatibility with most subscription services. It's compatible with MP3, WMA, secure WMA, and Audible audio file formats. The backlit LCD screen shows ID3 tag information for the currently playing track (song title, artist and album). Navigate the music on your player with ease, sorting by artist, album, song title, playlist or other criteria. Customer Reviews

Good MP3 player4
I wanted a player that connects to any computer easily and plays MP3's. I checked out the other SanDisk Sansa m240 1 GB MP3 Player listed on Amazon for almost $80.00 and after reading the reviews, I decided to buy it. Luckily, I found the same player FOR $20!!!!

I received my order in 5 days, plugged it into my laptop, drag and dropped my Files onto the Sansa and DONE!!! Too easy!!!
I like the fact that no software is required although the order includes a disk (not sure what's on there) and that you don't need to charge the player. Just put the AAA battery in and you're good to go.
This is a pretty good, simple (no fuss) MP3 player especially for under $20.

I am very happy with this player5
I bought this to listen to audio book from the library. It is compatitable with the software and and so far has worked perfectly.
If you put this on pause and let it power down by itself, the next time you turn it on it will be exactly where you left off. I havent figured all the settings and stuff out yet but for what I've been using it for it's great.

Great, once I got it going3
This thing is so tiny. It's only 1 ¼" x 3" and weighs 1.5 ounces with the battery. It actually comes with AAA battery. No need for charging.

I had a hard time getting it to work. The driver wouldn't install on my Windows XP system. Something about an invalid INF file. As I searched the web for a solution, I found that was a common problem. I finally installed a file named Microsoft_User-Mode_Driver_Framework_Install-v.1.0-WinXP.exe (sorry, links to other sites aren't allowed in our reviews) and Windows Media Player 11 (I had 10); and afterwards, I was able to install the drivers. Maybe that will help others.

There are lots of nifty little extras. The player came with stereo earbuds which are comfortable and the music is clear. I can listen to the radio and record my voice. It comes with an armband and a plastic case.

I wish I could load music with a card. Instead, I have to connect via USB port. Shuffling the music around has to be done via the computer.

Still this is a great little mp3 player. I wouldn't recommend it nor buy it again because of the problem I had with the INF file, but I like what I have now that it works.

UPDATE: Technology is such that it wouldn't hurt the pocketbook to spend just a little bit more and get a fancier mp3 player. The player was good in the beginning, but it is no match for what's available today.
