Customer Reviews
Smart letter opener
I have used other battery operated letter openers and find this one to be the most convenient and easiest to use. In some one has to keep a button pushed while feeding the letter through it, and in others the letter must be fed from one side only. The Pelouze LO1 accepts the enevelope from either side and when it senses it, it instantly starts the motor, which runs the cutters. Cuts are clean and only 1/8" of the envelope is cut off.

I liked the first one of these letter openers so much that I purchased a second one. While using one of these, I found that the cutter wheel was no longer working. The opener comes apart easily enough, and I saw that paper had jammed behind the wheel, effectively disabling it. Putting the opener back together is a bit more of a challenge; I am working on that now. My advice is to be very careful in feeding new envelopes into this device and to be sure the paper from one use is cleared from the device before another envelope is inserted. Just a cautionary note before you get too cocky and start opening envelopes one after another too quickly!
does the job
Good for personal use. Seems tough enough to last. Not the most ergonomic to use, with a brick like design.
