Customer Reviews
average quality, not as good as i expected
I bought this directly from Amazon about a week ago for a blowout price. It already looks like Amazon is not selling this item anymore as it is currently only listed as available from various Marketplace sellers.
For the three ten-spots I paid, I'm satisfied. It basically cost what replacement blades for my other shaver cost. I will say that this shaver doesn't appear to have the same quality of build as my last Norelco. It is lighter, doesn't feel as good in the hand, and has a cheap plastic feel. The motor sounds like it's less powerful than my older model (which listed for a similar full retail price when new); even with a full charge it doesn't sound like the blades and spinning around very fast. That being said, the thing isn't particularly quiet either.
Gives an adequate if mediocre shave. Requires lots of passes over the same area of skin in order to get everything. All in all not a terrible buy, but not a great find either.
Good value, but overrated in many reviews
I've owned 3 other norelcos in the past. 1 High, 1 Mid, 1 Low end, and now the 7110x. Why so many? Same reason a lot of you are considering purchasing this shaver. One broke, I needed a backup for travel/work, and the other needed those expensive 29.99$ replacement heads; which cost more than a new shaver. Where would I place the 7110x? Probably at the bottom of this list, under my 5k series. Is that necessarily a bad thing? Read below I'll tell you why:
The most important feature to me is #1 Performance. This includes Time & Closeness of the shave itself. In regards to these two criteria, I would rate this product average. As mentioned in other reviews, this shaver takes several passes to complete what others will do on the first time. That means doing a thorough job on the face can take up to 5 minutes sometimes; which makes going electric pointless, as you can get a better shave in less time with a Mach 3. As far as closeness of the shave goes, it does a decent job only if you go very slowly. The lift and cut feature helps out a bit...however, since this shaver doesn't do a good job of cutting, you will experience some pain with this--same with getting red irritation all over your face if you push even a little hard. I have found that even if I have shaven a few hours before, and want a clean up job, it still pulls even with the shortest stubble.
Pros: Price, Water Washable
Cons: Performance, Battery Life, cannot adjust/does not contour to face
Slow At Shaving
I've been a Norelco fan for years, and this must be my fifth shaver from them. This is also the worst. I'm not sure why, but it takes forever to shave with this model. It seems to have a smaller cutting area than my previous Norelcos. Perhaps the more expensive models do better, but for now, I'm just living with a longer shave time to get the same results.
