Customer Reviews
Two are better than one
I use my Kindle several hours a day, every day. I got tired of being at work and realizing that I had let the battery run down. My bad. Now I keep one adapter in my backpack and the other in my kitchen. I never worry about running out of juice in the middle of a great book no matter what time of day or where I am. And for the price, this is one very worth-it investment.
As original but it should have a better method of winding itself up for storage than just a twist
It is like original (a poorly designed) supplied cable.
This power adapter and the USB cord BOTH need a much better method to wind themselves up for storage. Amazon did not do us travelers any favors, by not have these two cords be better traveling companions. It would be very slick if they got redesigned to wind up for storage and had the ends overlap each other to make a very tidy and compact flat unit. If nothing else, the power adapter should have folding plug tips so that the metal plug does not scratch anything - for a good example of a quality power adapter design, check out the Apple unit (see link) Apple MA938LL/A 85-Watt Portable Power Adapter for MacBook Pro supplied with the MacBook Pro and note how the prongs can be removed and the cord stored around it...
Since this cord has generic ends, I suggest that you look elsewhere for a self winding charging system/cable; especially if this will be a "spare".
Thanks

It works
I needed an extra charger for my Kindle, and so purchased this one, which is a twin to the one that came with the Kindle in the first place. What can I say? It works, and it's convenient to be able to recharge the Kindle's batteries at the office as well as at home.
