Buy used from: $419.00 This is the receiver I purchased and I love it. Sound quality is astounding and it's adequately powered to drive medium sized floor standing Klipsch speakers at the front of a 5.1 surround system in a medium sized room. Easy set-up and a good menu system but the included remote could be better. Chose this over the Denon AVR-888 or 2808 because it was less expensive at the time.

Buy used from: $373.99 Even if you never play video games, I highly recommend the PS3. The quality of the Blu-Ray player is astounding. The big bonus is being able to easily stream audio, video and photos from your PC to the PS3 over your home network using Windows media (or better yet, the free TVersity media server software).

Great projector and great value for 1080p HD and Blu-Ray looks astounding on my 100" screen. It's ceiling mounted directly above my prime viewing position and I've never noticed any noise from the fan.

Best, it's activity based -rather than switch btwn sources (e.g. select cable box & change channel, back to amp for volume) just select an activity (Watch TV) & all buttons do what you want. Incredibly customizable & extremely easy to use.
Best remote control ever & totally worth the money.

Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $7.00 The only drawback to the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player is the lack of an infra-red remote (it uses BlueTooth); this solves that problem. Connect the USB IR receiver to the front of the PS3, put the include remote in a drawer and control movie playback on the Playstation with your Harmony One remote (or other universal remote until you upgrade to The One).

For a small room (10'x15' or less) or if you need very discreet speakers, these are a good choice for the money. You'll NEED a subwoofer with these.

Again, I have older model, but this is a good choice for a small to medium-sized room. The center channel is the most import speaker for movies, so you may want to seek out something a little larger like that the SC1.

 | Klipsch Synergy SS.5 Rear Surround Speakers (Pair, Black)
I really like dipole speakers like this for a more natural (and less directional) surround sound experience.
I'm using the SS1 surrounds myself.
