Customer Reviews

The best book overall I have read on hunting elk.5
The book is easy to read--early high school reading level. Since reading the book about 10 years ago, I have taken 15 elk and hunted in several states. Hart gives many ways to hunt elk. I have used all of them. He also gives many "no no's" in hunting elk. I have practiced avoiding all of them.

Overall, the book is well worth reading. I would recommend that all serious elk hunters have a copy of the book as a reference guide.

Gets you closer to elk than anyone could ever imagine5
I highly recommend this book to all serious elk hunters. Once you've read this book and applied these tactics, elk seem to fall out of the trees around you (Watch out! They're big animals!). You're foolish not to read this if you are going elk hunting.

Perhaps the Bible of Elk Hunting books5
It's too bad that one reviewer had to bump a negative review several times in what looks like a deliberate effort to downgrade this book. The truth of the matter is that this book is one of the best books ever written about hunting the majestic wapiti. When many of the current titles on this subject have long been out of print, it's a pretty good bet that Wixom's book will be considered a classic and still be read by hunters seeking solid, reliable imformation about elk and how to pursue them.
