Customer Reviews
Fast grower but beware of insects
We have had our Ameri-Willow for 2-3 years, and it is huge. It does grow super fast, and we have been amazed by it's growth. With that said, we now have a huge problem with aphids, caterpillars and other insects. The grass is sticky and the tree has webs all through it. We are considering cutting it down. I wish my husband would have investigated the insect issue before buying.
Hybrid Willows - Consider this...
There are many species of willows on the market, including a number of "fast-growing" hybrids. Willows as a general rule need full sun and plenty of water, and their growth rate can be very fast. Although soft and weaker wood than say a maple or oak, willows tend to bend rather than break.
Plant these hybrid fast growers for fencelines and screens, in small groups or singly, and where their roots wont interfere with pipes or sidewalks.
This Ameri-Willow is a brand name of Empire National Nursery, and you might contact them for more information.
