excellent for cold therapy
This gel pack is good for cold therapy, for it retains the cold for a long while. However, it is not very flexible so is best for laying on. But I found it not satisfactory at all for hot therapy. It contains a liquid type gel so if you want to use it for your back & lay on it, the liquid separates out to the sides, leaving almost none under your back. For heat therapy I recommend either a Duro-Med Therabead pad or an Elasto Gel one. Both stay warm for 30 or more minutes and retain their thickness.
