This book offers the challenge to create your business to "Cause No Harm", along with suggestions about how leaders can apply Buddhist ethics and values in the workplace. I've read reviews elsewhere on the web by non-Buddhists that the spiritual dimensions Business and The Buddha are comfortable to people of other faiths.
Personally, even as a Buddhist, I have mixed feelings about people who bring overt expressions of faith into the workplace. I'm not sure that we should be bringing Jesus or Buddha to work, as much as we should be behaving in a manner exemplified by them and other great beings of faith.
That said, I enjoyed Business and the Buddha. It has launched me on a mission to find new ways to "Cause No Harm" in intention, word and deed.

If Only It were So
This is a brave and insightful book. Field looks at what few do: how Buddhist thoughts can apply to business. He looks at the power of intention( a mission statement should include an intention to refrain from harm); how karma applies to the practice of business( unduly harm your competitor today and reap your own harm down the line); unions are a business themselves and a mirror image of corporations( they must reform themselves before lashing out at Corporate America). Change is very hard but as Gandhi told us, be the change you want to see. A worthwhile book, deserving of a wide audience.
