Like Tequila & Food With Tequila? History Of? This is Your Book!5
Wow. I did not know that Tequila was not aged until the soldiers on the front during the Civil War ran out of Whiskey, and the Mexicans brought Tequila in to satisfy their thirst, then took the empty Whiskey barrels back to Mexico, thus giving us Anejo (aged Tequila). I now have a newfound respect for Blanco as well. Not only do you get a history of the spirit, but also the author's insight during a trek to Tequila country (she's quite charming). Moroever, there are some delightful drinks and food recipes, all with Tequila. This book was light and educational at the same time. It's perfect.

Perfect Combination5
I have a lot of tequila afficionado friends and I thought this beautifully photographed book would be a good intro for me. Turns out, it's the perfect combination of interesting information, history, tequila lore, manufacturing info, great recipes, pretty much everything I was curious about. I've tried the cocktail recipes and several of the food recipes and they were all keepers. In particular, the classic Margarita, Mexican Spaghetti and Meatballs, Tequila Coconut Cupcakes have all made it into my permanent rotation as all three were BIG hits at a recent party I had. I really loved this book and even my tequila snob friends for whom I bought copies, said they learned a lot of things about Tequila that they didn't know. A terrific book!

Oustanding recipes!4
I've never written an Amazon review before, but I have to rave about Joanne's tequila-infused cooking! Last night I was fortunate enough to hear her speak at a book signing-demonstration at the Tyler Florence store here in Mill Valley, Ca.

During the course of her presentation, some assistants were serving samples of food from the recipes in the book. When I tasted Joanne's GUACAMOLE SOUP I was F L O O R E D! It was just sublime. Buy the book if for no other reason than to get that recipe!

All hyperbole aside, Joanne knows her tequila and she knows how to create a tasty but DOABLE recipe that brings out the best in the liquor and the food ingredients. I'm a die-hard fan from now on.
