Horses need a stable for shelter. The 3.5-inch-long, 2-inch-tall horses included in this set are privileged to have such a wonderful red and white plastic stable. The barn snaps together in minutes and includes a tack and storage room and three stalls with swinging doors. Accessories such as a water trough, four corral fences, a jump, and three race barrels ensure fun-filled days for these lucky horses. The barn is 10.5 inches long, 6.5 inches wide, and 7 inches high. What a wonderful toy and display piece for horse lovers! --Tami Horiuchi

SO FLIMSY and CHEAPLY made
I have never reviewed a product before in my life. But this toy was so disappointing, I had to tell share. My 4 year old is horse-crazy, and Santa brought her this as a very special gift. Santa was under the impression that Breyer is the best when it comes to horse stuff. Unfortunately, when Mom went to put it together, some of the thin, brittle plastic parts actually cracked and/or broke off during assembly. The joints of the barn don't stay joined, the barn doors come off, and as mentioned, the horses don't stay standing up. If all your child wants is to create a horse display, and if you have room in your house for such "hands off" displays, I suppose this would be fine. For a kid who likes pretend play, this is worthless.
Problem with getting Red Stable set to stay together
We can't get the stable roof to snap on; therefore, it just sits there, and without the roof snapped on, every other part of the building wants to fall apart. It's flimsier than I would have expected from a quality product like Breyer. I'll continue to buy Breyer, but not any buildings that have to be snapped together. That's too bad, because our 5-year-old grandson likes playing with toys he can manipulate, and he keeps trying to play with this one even as it is.
The two horses that came with this set are cool. I plan to buy more Stablemate horses.
Thank you for this opportunity.
Use gorilla glue!
My daughter, who is 3, got this as a Christmas present, and likes it very much. She is gentle with toys and used to playing with small objects; so far, nothing has been broken. I found it fairly easy to assemble, BUT it is not very secure if you just snap the pieces into the plastic; at first, it kept snapping undone. The plastic is a bit flimsy. I recommend using gorilla glue (or some other type of superglue) to make sure that the stable is really stable. The other major defect for us is that it is quite difficult to get the horses to stand upright. They wobble or fall down, even though they are not (yet) broken. Other small horses (such as Playmobil horses, on which playmobil people can ride) are more satisfactory at least for younger children, because they stand up well, and you can put a rider on. But we like this barn/stable, because it can be used with a number of other small animals, including playmobile. Also like that it comes with a jump and some fencing -- good for playing zoo as well as stable. So: not ideal, but still a very nice, enjoyable toy.
