Buy used from: $1.19 Karma Wilson does fabulous with her whole "Bear" series of books. Some are available in board books for the littlest ones, but I prefer the large picture books for story time. They are a rhyming series which has been proven to promote early reading skills in children.

Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $0.79 This was my daughter's favorite book from very early on (9 months or so?). The rhymes are melodic and progress well. I've read this one so many times on request that I don't think I need the book to tell the story anymore.
