Editorial Reviews

Review
The latest in the Urban Babies Wear Black series demonstrates a wry sense of humor, crisp, sophisticated graphics and a thematic approach that leaves its presumed audience of babies in the cold. In addition to wearing bibs, it appears that foodie babies "know their way around a kitchen," "browse farmers' markets" and "dine al fresco." Dion's illustrations partake of a Helen Oxenbury-style sense of irony (the baby sharing "small plates" is seen from behind, flinging peas at a startled mother), but the complexity of their rendering puts them far beyond the visual comprehension of an actual baby. More for smug foodie parents than real babies--but we already knew that. (2-3) --Kirkus Reviews, December 15, 2008

Perfect Gift for Your Foodie-in-Training5
Foodie Babies Wear Bibs is by far the most adorable children's board book I've ever seen. The illustrations are whimsical, and engaging while the text is straightforward -- as it should be. Flipping through the pages I'm absolutely enamored with Nathalie Dion's depictions of roly poly babies playing with their food in all manner of locations. My favorite page is simply captioned "Foodie babies say cheese" and is accompanied by happy kiddies hamming it up for the camera while sampling platters of gouda, cheddar, and brie. Those are definitely my kind of babies!

enjoy these series4
we like this but not as much as the "eco babies wear green" book. It still has some cute pictures and lines, but for some reason, the scenarios in "eco babies wear green" are easier for them to relate to and you can see that they enjoy it more. Maybe when they get older, they'll appreciate the humor of "Foodie babies wear bibs" more.Eco Babies Wear Green

A must have for all Foodies with infants4
Overall, I think this book is more for the foodie parents than the foodie baby. Would I buy it for myself? Maybe not, but it would make a great baby shower gift for the parents to oooh and aaah over before the baby comes and then the baby can drool and chew on it later. :)
