Great deal on comfy shoes
Bought a pair of these for my 11 yr. old son who is very attentive to name brand at the moment. He loved them and said they are the most comfortable skate sneaker he has ever worn. We will be shopping for another pair soon...same brand! The price is great too!
Old School New School
If you're like me, you grew up on a Powel Peralta and cried warm tears of liquid bliss when you brought home your first 'spoon nose' skate deck. Until, that is, you ollied a hole into your brand new converse lowtops, in a matter of days. Fortunately for our feet (grip tape wounds can be gruesome!) and due in no small amount to moms across America trying to keep their skateboarding kids feet shod, in triumphed the first skateboarding specific shoes. Back then, though, your choices were black, navy, and tan, mostly suede. They varied in ollie protection and sole design, but not by much else. Thankfully, modern technology allows for more creativity while maintaining the same protection. Modern shoes offer a more unique and personal expression for those in need of new kicks. Too much of a good thing, in my opinion, however, can be bad.
I was pleased to find a happy medium with these Etnies. Look close, and you'll see the creativity and detail of the expression so common among those claiming the modern skateboarding age. Yet, putting aside the magnifying glass, the detail subtly blends into a more muted color scheme reminiscent of summer, Southern California, circa 1995. Appropriate shoes, I feel, for someone who still skates but can't quite squeeze into those 28" jeans anymore and who prefers the buzz-cut to the axel rose.
Awesome shoe!
This is a super comfortable and super cute shoe! Very trendy and good sole and ankle cushioning support.
