Product Description

If you feel the need to learn meditation but you find that the idea of finding 30 or 40 minutes to meditate is itself stressful, this CD is for you. Short "power meditations" such as these - between three and nine minutes in length - can be highly beneficial for busy people. Each practice teaches a specific and powerful technique for quickly transforming the mind, encouraging the rapid development of calmness, spaciousness, and relaxation. Additionally, by practicing these meditations you'll learn attitudes and skills that can be used throughout the day in any activity you're involved in, bringing more mindfulness and creativity into daily life. You'll notice benefits from repeated practice, and although daily practice is ideal, whatever you can manage will be of benefit. Doing even a small amount of meditation is better than doing none.

Meditation Made Easy5
In today's society, some of us are finding it harder & harder to lend ourselves to healthy practices. Whether it be in Body (eating good things, exercising for that 20 minute minimum), Mind (reading the classics you promised yourself that you would, learning a new language, or increasing your mental skills) or Spirit (completing a daily 30 minute meditation, delving into new methods of expressing belief, or attending a religious service). We just don't have the time. And all the clichés & platitudes regarding `making time' just grind on our already full agendas.

Not wanting to give up any of the subtle balances of our life and knowing that the Body/Mind/Spirit triad does make up the essence of who-we-are, we look for ways to keep everything intact and in working order. Hence, it was with a great deal of anticipation that I received this CD for review.

There are nine guided meditations on the CD, each one 3 to 9 minutes in length. They are powerful in and of themselves. If you only have time for one or two... so be it. You will walk away more relaxed, more in tune with your Higher Self, & less stressed.

I was so pleased by the voice of Bodhipaksa.. There is a faint Scottish burr to his timbre that simply `rests easy' on your ears. I found myself relaxing immediately just from the sound of his comforting voice. This gentleman teaches meditation courses internationally (...)

He has several CD's released on guided meditations. I look forward to hearing them as well, but for now this is my favorite.

I highly recommend this enlightening and truly helpful CD to all our online friends.

Once you listen to `Grounding the Mind', then `Opening the Mind', you will understand the power of meditation!

Happy Listening.

Meditation for Busy 21st Century Americans5
Who has time to meditate?

I thought I didn't until I bought this CD, along with Bodhipaksa's Guided Meditations for Stress Reduction. To tell you the truth, I listen to this CD more than the other. I bought both CDs for stress reduction but can only carve out small pockets of time that the meditations on this Guided Meditations for Busy People CD can fill.

Some meditations suit me better than others. I have meditated off and on for years and my practice is geared more toward breath meditation. So those meditations that move in that direction work well for my breathing meditation bias. There are others that seem to have a slight "New Age" bent to them, however within the meditation itself, Bodhipaksa grounds the technique in the psychology of the subconscious, making it believable.

His voice is warm and whispery, his delivery is relaxed and slow paced, and his Scottish accent is unobtrusive and unique, at once. This combination is quite conducive to turning quiet meditations into valuable and well spent relaxation time. It is really quite remarkable that you can give these guided meditations 8 - 10 minutes of your time and become truly transformed from the high-stress person you were before you began listening. Even the 3 minute meditation at the end of the CD can produce amazing results in so short a time.

If you are looking for a way to a high payoff in relaxation and meditation for a small investment of time and effort, this is your relaxation/meditation medication. (I'm sorry to bring such a Western angled practicality to the subtle art of meditation, but such is the world and age in which we live).

New to Meditation? Short on Time?5
Anyone who is interested in trying meditation, but believes he/she does not have time should give this CD a try. The meditations are less then 10 minutes, but leave you with the sense that you have had a worthwhile practice. Meditation can provide you with great rewards, but you have to do it. More may be better, but some is definitely better than none.
