Product Description

Countless interviews of ethnic Germans from Romania, Yugoslavia and Hungary were conducted and adapted to this fictional novel which takes place during World War II in Yugoslavia. The book takes you on a journey with three fictional characters, an Austrian Priest, an ethnic German born in Hungary now working in intelligence gathering for the Allies and a young Gypsy woman. The book works into the novel some of the more interesting stories of survival and tragedy of Danube Swabians who were forced to endure the labor camps in Yugoslavia and the refugee experience on the move west into Austria. The book should be entertaining to those who have an interest in World War II, Danube Swabians, Gypsies and adventure.

A Donauschwaben Spy Story5
A cleverly written spy story of WW II. It also gives the reader a brief history lesson about the Batschka/Banat region of Yugoslavia & Romania and of the German-Hungarians, known as Donauschwaben. Easy reading.

A must read for anyone interested in ethnic German history.4
A good read. A fascinating account of what happened to ethnic Germans living in Yugoslavia, Romania and Hungary during World War II cleverly presented in a suspenseful novel format.
