Horrible buy
if you want the thermometer that is in the picture, dont order this one because the one you actually get is totally different. i bought this one becauase i thought the large writing looked pretty nice. the one that was sent to me was this nasty looking dial were the numbers are so small you can barley see them, unstead of starting at 60 degrees as its pictured, it starts at 0 which is a horrible idea because its only an 1.5 dial anyways. the C temp. numbers were the same size as the F temp. numbers so they had to make them even smaller. if i were to actaully get the one in the picture im sure i would have gave this 5 stars but i didnt and completely unsatisfied.
Great product Makes it so easy!
I had to guess when to finish frothing the milk but with this great easy to read gauge it is so easy to know when to stop. It's also easy to adjust to the size of the container.
Mike is right ... the product has changed.
Amazon's photo is misleading: the actual dial is NOT the dial on the product page, and the photo shows some sort of guide on the sheath, which is not on the actual one. Also although the "clip" on the sheath is of questionable use, the picture shows a metal one, which should be pretty sturdy. The product however has a one-piece black sheath with a molded clip which gives it a cheap and ugly look. If I had seen accurate pictures of this, I would not have purchased it.
GOOD points: it is accurate, and that's why it's good. Also the sheath does have a hex-shaped top that saves you from picking up a pair of pliers to calibrate the boiling point. Of course you do that once, maybe twice ever, so there's little real added value.
