I know, there are fancy cameras out there that have more megapixels, more do-hickeys and more everything. BUT, you have to match the tool to the job. They are cost effective, will take older style lenses and generally just get the job done. Buy two of them. You need to have a backup camera. Make sure you sync the clocks!

I've worked with both the 1.4 and the 1.8 and I can't see any reason to pay the extra money for the 1.4. On a D80, a 50mm lens will get you to about 75mm. Its a good all-around lens. Fast, good focal length, compact and very cost effective. When I shoot a wedding I have two cameras, one has a 70-200 on it, the other has a 50mm 1.8.

Here it is folks, the next "cool" thing in wedding photography. Think lens baby on steroids. Just like the Orbis - this is a toy and you better be able to have it pay for itself. A much cheaper alternative is to look on the web for a Kiev made version. Because you are using it as a toy or trick, the cost savings will outweigh and drop in quality between the Nikon and Kiev versions.

I am truly in love with this lens. It should have been the first lens I bought - but the price scared me away. Between this, my 30mm and my 70-200mm I could shoot a whole wedding. It all comes down to style. I like tight crops, full frame. I still carry my 24mm and 15mm but they get used very rarely.

Keep your sensor clean. It will make your job much easier.

Cheap, easy . . .everything I want in a backup system. Once I fill an SD card, the lock is engaged on the card and it goes into my wolverine. Now the transfer rate on this thing is not the fastest by any means, but I haven't had this be a problem yet. Once I fill a card, lock it and start the transfer, the whole thing goes in my bag and just does its thing while I work on filling the next card.

I have three of these with me all the time. Why? They work well. When I am photographing the group shots I put two of them on light stands with umbrellas. They are triggered with PocketWizards. NOTE: you cannot hook a Pocket Wizard directly up to a SB-600 you need a hotshoe adapter. You can to have a way to attach your flash to the stand anyway, just make sure it has a PC port on it.

Lightroom is the gold standard for process wedding images. When you have 1500 raw images to work with, nothing is faster or better. There are a million free presets out there. Lightroom 2 is much better than the first edition.

I do love my Boda Dry. No more trying to fit cameras inside of a bag. Just load this up with lenses and off you go. Very comfy to wear -- all my big camera bags now sit a home and miss me.
