Sons of God tells the story of Raechev, the most powerful female Nephelim still roaming the face of the earth. Two and a half thousand years ago, she incurred the wrath of Elohim when she disobeyed his command: the Nephelim--an ancient half-breed race, the children of angels and mortals--must destroy any of their kinsmen who commit atrocities against mankind. She was weak in her love for her mother, the wanton goddess Ishtar, and was therefore barred from the Creator's protection in the Cities of Refuge. Still steadfast in her devotion to Elohim, Raechev wanders the mortal realm, exterminating those of her fallen brethren that hunt her and seek to breed an army of a size unrivaled since before the Great Flood.
Now, in the present day, the fallen Nephelim have enticed a group of scientists to research the DNA of their ancestors in hopes of cloning a destructive horde. When the mortals begin an archaeological dig near Ishtar's prison in the ancient city of Nineveh, they begin being possessed or eaten alive in a series of horrifying events--and Raechev must return to face her fate under the gathering storm clouds of Armageddon. Rebecca Kurtz's extensively researched novel probes our conceptions of reality, and uncovers the links between the holy scriptures of leading religions and humanity's continued sense of the supernatural, occult, and vampires. Her research is provided so each one can decide for themselves what is truth and what is myth.

Review
'Dan Brown watch your back! Rebecca Kurtz reveals one of the most enigmatic beings from the Bible in a page-turning thriller that will take you to the secret world of the Nephelim--ancient half-human, half-angelic creatures.' --Laura Kamm, TV Producer
'Sons of God is a crazy-quilt of sacred texts rolled up into a fascinating action/adventure. It reads like a popcorn movie, filled with characters one would normally assume originated from mythological origins. Maybe not! Either way, it's a fun, irreverent ride.' --Mark Paladini, Producer/Casting Director
'Sons of God is a scintillating first novel by Rebecca Ellen Kurtz in the fantasy tradition of J.R. Tolkein, C.S. Lewis, and J.K. Rowling. The novel introduces us to the life and times of the Nephilim, the giant beings mentioned in the Biblical book of Genesis, chapter 6, who were the offspring of the angelic sons of God and human women. Kurtz draws upon an astonishing array of ancient religious texts to create a highly imaginative, gripping, and satisfying tale of superhuman power, passion, sex, conflict, love, and redemption.' --Robert Whitaker, Ph.D. English, Princeton

From one Neph to another
Rebecca's work is scholarly in its approach to high drama and worthy of all her 5-star reviews. The point I always ask my readers is, "Did you get your money's worth?" Did the work provide the reader with hours of quality entertainment? In the case of Sons of God, I got MORE than the purchase price in return. Thank you! How good is this? The book is not only a roudy adventure through time and space, it's educational and thought provoking. A female Neph? Intriguing concept. The visuals without pictures, written so skillfully, are still in my mind. My hope and sincere regard towards Rebecca is that Sons of God sells like hot cakes in an Alaskan town in winter. This is one sexy piece of literature which I'm proud to host in my collection. Dear reader, take your mouse and add Sons of God to your cart...now.

Intriguing!
Based on the prologue and about 40 pages I read on the author's website, since the "Search Inside" feature is not active here yet, I bought this book on impulse because of its fascinating concept. At first glance, not exactly my kind of story, but after reading and learning about the Sons of God, as it relates to Biblical accounts, I became fascinated by the whole idea.
The author seems to have done a nice job researching and weaving a hybrid tapestry of allegory and true historical events, and it all comes across as very believable and even makes you wonder if this inventive world, populated with archetype characters, and the supernatural events they experience, had actually occurred thousands of years ago.
As far as I can tell, this novel does what all successful novels do. To whisk away its readers to another place, another time, and to tell a fascinating and imaginative tale we can get lost in. And for this reader, although this sometimes familiar story borders on fantasy, it feels much more like reality.
Congratulations on your novel, Rebecca. I'm sure I'll enjoy the rest of this book. I can't wait to find it in my mailbox.

Romance, Mystery, and Fact collide in Sons of God.....
Sons of God is a great read from cover to cover, filled with adventure... mystery... archaeological/religious facts... and romance. The mystery of Nephelim which are half angel/half human creatures unfolds in this tale of one nephelim's search for reconciliation with her creator... In the book there are references crossing religions and time periods which make for an intriguing read. I highly recommend this novel/research if you have any interest in Nephelim or creatures of myth.
