About Eagle Creek
Eagle Creek designs its product lines to make travel easier and more fun. Not surprisingly, the folks at Vista, California-based Eagle Creek travel the four corners of the world in their spare time. By yak, by Fiat, by bus, by fast train, or by airplane, Eagle Creek employees come back and figure out how their gear can work better in all of the above circumstances. Most importantly, the company listens to its well-traveled customers, who demand that their travel gear be smart, indestructible, and comfortable. That's why Eagle Creek builds every product with the highest-quality, most-reliable performance in mind. Every buckle, zipper, webbing, and fabric choice is scrutinized based on rigorous lab and field-testing. The company is also keenly aware of the environmental impact of its products, which is why it strives to minimize material waste and source and manufacture its products using the least harmful fabrics, trims, and packaging materials available.
Customer Reviews
comfortable, but developes holes quickly
I've owned two of these and have given up on them. They are great when they work, but the seams develop air leaks and renders the pillow useless.. its not a fun thing to discover on the 1st leg of a 25 hour flight! look elsewhere, especially for the money!
Buyer Beware
I travel in the air on a weekly basis and could never find a pillow I enjoyed. Based on reputation I decided to give the Eagle Creek Neck Pillow a try.
WHEN IT WORKED, it was the best travel pillow I have ever used. The fleece cover is soft and when deflated and folded into itself it made for easy storage.
HOWEVER, after about two weeks the inner tube developed a hole along the crease and would no longer hold air. I patched the hole using a patch kit used for my bike tires. Fortunately the patched hole is still holding strong but yet another hole has developed along the crease of the inner tube.
If they improve the liner I would recommend this product; otherwise look elsewhere.
Comfy
I was a little worried with durability after reading other reviews already posted but, I've found nothing worrying so far.
I love the nice color...it's a crisp green that reminds me of the little tree frogs we have around here--and it's a cozy cover. I also really like the simple design for inflation and deflation. You blow it up with about 4 deep breaths and then if it's too hard/full then you gently push the little plastic flap to deflate the pillow. It'll take you about 4 uses before you figure out the exact amount of air you need for a comfy neck.
The only disappointment I can find is the size of the pillow when it's totally deflated. It is a little bulky with the cover left on, and would take up about the space of a regular sized paperback novel in your carry on. So, you can always take the cover off when packing and then put it back on when you're ready to use it. I've used it to support my neck while reading in bed and was so comfy I fell asleep about 10 words in.
