Unique fantasy in a compact package
Oz comes home from a hard day of work at the quartz mines to find that his only son, Isis, has been stung by a deadly wasp. After the untimely death of his beloved wife, Ambrosia, Oz finds that he cannot bear the thought of losing all that is left of his family. Although there is no known cure for the deadly sting of an arachnid wasp, Oz cannot sit idly by while his son dies a horrible death. His only hope is to consult the swamp witch, Zelda.
Though the journey is fraught with danger, Oz sets out for the swamp, risking life and limb to find any hope of a cure. Along the way, Oz must avoid the deadly Caliginous, hungry carnivorous forests, and a flesh-eating mold eager to strip the meat from his bones.

Wonderful story!
David Lester Snell takes Ozzington Noble on an enchanted journey that's saturated with age-old wickedness. Danger silently watches and waits to shows its sharp fangs; it's hungry to devour "Oz." Throughout Hourglass, Oz is racing against unmerciful time to make an attempt to save his dying son, Isis. An arachnid wasp has stung Isis and it's a fatal sting. Oz's anguish and absolute dedication to save his son before the next orbrise is made brutally clear as he risks his life outwitting and battling unearthly creatures. This story is drenched with dark forces that seek to drown all efforts so bravely executed by Oz. Hourglass is an entertaining tale spun by an author who cleverly draws you into his sticky web; he won't release you until the very end.
I highly recommend it.
Great For All Ages!
Hourglass focuses on a single father, who braves dank mines and a carnivorous forest to save his only son from the deadly sting of an arachnid wasp. It's a tense read lacking vulgarity, so it's great for teenagers, while the parental aspect appeals to adults.
