This is another library find that would be great to have on hand. The writing is simple and clear. The photos are very helpful.

Go ahead and get one box of newborn diapers. Our daughter was 9lbs 5oz when born and these fit her better than size 1 for the first 5 weeks. You'll need a LOT of diapers, at least 6 per day. BUT, do not open and fill up your diaper stacker etc (open as you go) just in case you can't use all of the diapers you were given/bought and need to exchange them.

These are great for the small spit up a newborn is likely to have, but I also like larger coverage burp cloths to attempt to protect my clothing.

I found one of these at the thrift store in remarkable condition for $2, but I would pay the price tag for a new one. This is great if you struggle to keep your baby snug in his/her swaddle at night because the velcro is super strong and there is no excess fabric to contend with. If using the fleece, make sure you don't overheat the baby with clothes that are too thick.

Again, check the thrift or consignment shops. I found several of these there but I'm not sure of the brand. Again, these are good for swaddling. You're going to need a LOT of these because of diaper accidents and spit up. We were given new Koala brand ones as gifts.

Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Yes, we think so. It has many pockets, a strap that extends over the shoulder to help relieve back strain, and isn't a feminine color so Dad won't feel awkward carrying it. I carry it as well because it is so very convenient. This was a great x-mas gift to my husband.

We have something similar to this and get loads of compliments on it. It makes storing a pacifier on the outside of the diaper bag easy and can hold more than one and a pacifier clip as well.

This is all the pump I need b/c I'm a stay-at-home Mom w/only one baby. It cleans easily and works great for me. I even have carpal tunnel, and this doesn't bother my wrist when I use it. Check with a lactation consultant if you want an electric. Ours would lend us an electric pump.

We have three 4oz BPA free plastic bottles with slow-flow nipples which is all we've used (along with the storage bottles) these past 6.5 weeks since I'm breast feeding. Obviously, formula fed babies would need more bottles than this. We have other kinds of bottles, but our baby prefers these. They don't leak and again attach right to our pump.

Found this at a consignment shop for $25. It's good to have for trips and just set up in another room since she likes the swing so much. It keeps us from dragging the big one from room to room.

This stays in our bedroom, and we're glad to have it especially for the changing pad. We were also just given the Pack'n'play lite which we'll likely use more for actual travel. This will be of more use in the long run because it is so much bigger. We'll use this for several months before moving her to her crib.

You'll need a couple of these to ensure that your sheet fits your bassinet.

She love's this. I was skeptical of the extra price tag for the gadgets, but if you can afford it, it's worth it.

Again, we were given this as a hand-me-down and are very glad we got it. My pain meds for the c-section made it hard to wake at night. This made it easier for my husband to quickly heat the medela bottle for Sarah rather than trying to boil water and wait for the bottle to reach body temp.

We bought this new in a kit at Babies'R'us that included 2 changing pads, a mattress pad cover, and some extra waterproof padding. It was well worth the $70 we paid for the kit. Keep your eye out for coupons once you register at Babies'R'us for such a thing. Otherwise, this would work just fine.

Bought this on eBay with a comforter set, diaper stacker, bumper pad, etc for $30. This has had her attention more than most any other thing we've put in front of her. We attached it to the side of the changing table so it's just over a foot above her head. Not sure if it's this mobile in particular or if any mobile would do.

Another hand-me-down from a friend who had two. I'm so lucky to have been given one. My mother bought us 2 other slipcovers which are also good to have. I use this product every day. Besides breastfeeding, you can also use it to prop your baby up.

We were given this at x-mas. Don't buy this used unless it comes with a manual. It takes a little working to figure just how things fit together. Honestly, I'm not sure it's necessary because we haven't hit the big smell as of yet (benefit of breastfeeding). I also use recycled grocery bags in a small trash can which seems to work as well, but my husband prefers this.
