Families with children need not limit their vacations to Disney World and the Grand Canyon, say the Nichols, travel and writing partners for 31 years. The authors, who have traveled with their young children to Bangkok, Ecuador, Italy, Morocco and other far-flung locales, extol the benefits of foreign travel on children: kids "learn to appreciate and celebrate the many ways people all over the world conduct their lives." The book's beginning chapters focus on general considerations, such as what to pack and how to tackle foreign languages, and give Web resources for international family travel. About the Author
Jennifer M. Nichols published travel articles on global family adventures in the Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, Denver Post, Kansas City Star, and Diversion magazine. She traveled to 55 countries and lived in Europe and Central America, and her two teenagers have traveled to 27 countries on five continents. Bill Nichols has been the travel partner and writing collaborator of Jennifer M. Nichols for the past 31 years. He has visited 58 countries and works as a marketing strategy consultant. He lives in Newton Centre, Massachusetts.

The Nichols family- what a story!
After reading this book, I'm astounded at how well rounded the Nichols children, Will and Alison, must be. Insofar as the discourse of isolationism dominates within the United States, this book provides a powerful argument for exposing children to foreign cultures and, just as importantly, to helping to keep our nation's airlines in business. I recommend this book with confidence that anyone who reads it will find themselves a more well-rounded person.
